After a slow start during its season opener on Saturday, the Milton boys’ basketball team battled back and held on for a 54-50 win over Lamoille.
Ryan Brown led the team with 24 points, including 14 points in the first half.
Ben Hanson added 14 points and seven rebounds and Ian Jennings had nine points.
“Rebounding was one of the keys to our win,” said Milton coach Chris Brown. “Another key was the defensive effort from some of the players, including Tre Sherwood and Seth Herrity.”
Hanson (seven rebounds), Jennings (six rebounds), Herrity (six rebounds) and Will Scapinato (six rebounds) all had good games rebounding for the Yellowjackets.
The Yellowjackets improved to 1-0 with the win and will host Enosburg on Tuesday for its next game.
