The Milton boys’ hockey team jumped out to a strong start during its game at Lyndon on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets scored five first period goals on their way to an 11-5 victory to kick off their season.
“We controlled most of the game and did so with our depth,” said Milton coach Trevor Wagar. “We did well in the game, but I would have liked to see us play a bit more polished even though the season is new.”
Devon Jackson finished the game with a hat trick with Cole Heisler, Pat Shannon and Liam Fersing each scoring two goals.
Cam Barnier and Andrew McQuinn each tallied a goal.
Jackson Ehler played in net for the Yellowjackets and made 17 saves in the game.
The Yellowjackets will be back in action when they travel to Stowe on Wednesday.
