After a nail biter against Lyndon earlier in the week where it narrowly came away with a win, the Missisquoi boys hockey team was hoping to have a strong game against Northfield on Saturday.
The Thunderbirds had just that.
They quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and never looked back on their way to a 5-1 victory over Northfield.
Timmy Fournier got things started early in the first with an unassisted goal and followed it up by assisting on Brendan Bessette’s goal later in the first period. Hunter Hebert also assisted on Bessette’s goal.
After Northfield made it 2-1 early in the second, the Thunderbirds took off starting with a goal by Nick Marchessault assisted by Jordan Vorse.
Braylen Parent opened up the scoring again in the third period and assisted on Hebert’s third period goal to round out the scoring.
Cam Gagne made 15 saves for the Thunderbirds.
Missisquoi improved to 3-1 with the win and will be back in action Thursday when it travels to Mt. Mansfield.
