The Milton boys’ basketball team used a couple of buzzer-beating shots to either take the lead or extend leads throughout its game Thursday at Winooski.
From there, clutch free-throw shooting led the Yellowjackets to a 50-46 victory over Winooski.
“Balanced defensive efforts in a close game down the stretch proved to be key in our win,” said Milton coach Chris Brown. “Jordan Deep and Tyler McRae gave great contributions on the defensive end in the second half.”
Ryan Brown led all scorers with 25 points and six rebounds in the game, while Ben Hanson added a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. 11 of Hanson’s points came in the second half.
